New lounge furniture coming soon…

July 27th, 2010

It’s been a while since we’ve posted because we’ve been extremely busy behind the scenes of late.

We will soon be announcing some very exciting news about a new product line of designer lounge furniture.  We have worked (and continue to work) tirelessly to source an assortment of funky, high-quality furniture which compliments the modern-retro theme of our luxury bean bags.  We have so far chosen around half a dozen pieces that we will be adding to the current site, but we are also planning to launch a brand new site as the range grows – we have a fair bit of work ahead of us…

Hours of sweat and toil have already gone into arranging a photo shoot to showcase these new products, as well getting a few fresh snaps of our existing leather bean bags.  The shoot took place yesterday in a superb central Birmingham location, and we are desperate to get some of the new images on the site as soon as possible!

Without wanting to give too much away at this time, we are also in discussions about the possibility of taking on new premises so that we can offer customers the option to browse our luxury bean bag- and lounge-furniture in a stylish, relaxed showroom.  We’ll provide more updates soon.

Cozibag and the environment

June 29th, 2010

Whether we believe the worst-case predictions on global warming or not, most of us are more sensitive towards environmental issues these days.  Even if you don’t believe a single word of the Green lobbyists, it is difficult to argue that the continued use of fossil fuels is not at least detrimental to many localised environments and can/does affect the health of certain groups of people to some degree.

Simple commonsense tells us that we should try to slow-down consumption of the world’s resources.  If we can all do small things that don’t have any noticeable impact our lives, and those small things all add up to make a big difference, why wouldn’t we make those changes?

Personally, I think the jury is still out on whether we really are headed for disaster.  I also think it entirely plausible that some scientists see the theory of global warming as one which guarantees major funding for the foreseeable future, securing jobs in their profession.  Intentional or not, it is certainly possible that this could effect subjectivity to at least some degree.  Then we have the politicians, who are always happy to be presented with new opportunities to increase tax revenues.

However, I am definitely all for a lower reliance on oil – there is, of course, also a huge political, as well as environmental, incentive to do so – and the continued increase in recycling waste.  Recycling is far from a  new idea propagated by the Green movement; humankind has always used and re-used as much as possible.  It’s only the past couple of generations that have become accustomed to mass consumerism and the idea that if something doesn’t work, you throw it away and buy a new one.

As a company, we try to do everything we can to reduce our impact on the environment.  When we buy polystyrene bead for our bean bags, it comes in large polythene bags, and we have been wondering if there is a local company that would like to take this away to recycle.  I remember seeing a report on the local news that showed a company which turns waste plastics into things like garden fence posts.  We are going to start scouring the West Midlands for such a company, so if anybody out there has any ideas we’d be delighted to hear from you.

Well done England!

June 24th, 2010

Well, England didn’t make it easy for themselves but they eventually put in a good performance and probably deserved to win by more than a single goal.

The next game is now a hugely daunting one against the old foe Germany, who have looked excellent at times.  This is going to be one hell of a game and it could go either way, but the Germans have also been a bit indifferent at times and at long last England fans can have some hope that the team is about to hit top form and go on the rampage!

We have just added our outdoor bean bags to the website.  These high-back (XXL) bean bags are made from a thick polyester fabric that has the feel of canvas.  It’s different to other outdoor materials on the market in that it’s thick and tactile for a more luxurious finish.  Introductory prices are an amazing £64 (RRP £89) with FREE delivery to the UK mainland, so snap one up now and select the Saturday delivery option for just £10 to guarantee delivery on Saturday morning – in time for the big match on Sunday.  With the weather forecast looking good, get the BBQ out, put a few beers on ice and enjoy the day.

Nappa Leather now in Tan Brown

June 21st, 2010

We have now taken delivery of a third colour choice in our Nappa Leather Bean Bag range (Santiago, Sao Luis, Sao Paulo).

Tan Brown leather has an incredibly soft handle just like Black and Dark Chocolate, but it also has a vintage quality which really gives the leather unique character and style.

I’ve always been a fan of tan brown leather as it’s a real retro colour, a touch of the 1970s.  This retro feel is perfect for bean bag furniture, which, as we all know, was first used back in the 70s.  However, these days bean bags have become much more than just cheap seating options.  They can be expertly made from luxurious materials to produce furniture that offers a stylish alternative/compliment to traditional furniture.  Rather than straight lines and solid forms, bean bags offer soft, malleable and movable seating options to bring an almost organic feel to a modern living room or conservatory, etc.

Check out our leather bean bag range now to find a funky, comfy, tan brown leather bean bag at hugely discounted prices.

Still plenty of hope for England

June 14th, 2010

So, things are going quite as well as hoped for England at the World Cup.  A fairly average performance and a huge goal keeping gaff ensured we could only muster a draw against the USA, whilst the injury list makes for grim reading following news that Ledley King joins fellow centre-half Rio Ferdinand on the plane home having being ruled out of the tournament with a groin injury.

Still, England also drew the first game of the 1966 tournament before going on to win it.  We even lost our first game in 1986 before drawing one and winning the third to go on and get knocked out by Maradona’s cheating antics!  On balance, looking at the other teams in the group, England must still be favourites to go on and win the group so there’s no point in the fans losing faith just yet.

Personally, I had a great night despite the slightly disappointing result.  With my newly-built brick barbecue (which has only taken me 3 years to build), large TV, array of luxury bean bags in Cozibag’s unique and highly durable Everlast Faux Leather, and some unexpectedly warm sunshine, I had a great night.

Fingers crossed there’ll be plenty more England games to enjoy; why not get yourself a bean bag in the red and white of England and celebrate the World Cup in comfort and style?

England squad announced

June 2nd, 2010

So the big surprise of Fabio Capello’s final World Cup squad was the omission of Theo Walcott.

Personally, I don’t think Capello can be criticised for this decision.  Walcott has had a very indifferent season with Arsenal, in fact many Gooners were openly questioning whether the player has what it takes to be an Arsenal player and have suggested he has gone backwards in terms of his personal progression.  Whilst I don’t really subscribe to that view, I think his form made it very difficult to justify his inclusion in the squad, despite knowing that on his day Theo Walcott can terrorise the best defenders in the world with his electrifying pace and sublime footwork.

Capello clearly tried to give the young winger as much chance as possible to impress during England’s two warm-up games against Mexico and Japan, showing an obvious desire to add his name to the final 23, so long as Theo proved his worth.

In the end, Walcott didn’t really get into either game as much as he’d have liked, and Capello was left with little choice other than to leave him out.  A real shame for a very good young player, but I’m sure he’ll be back for the Euro Championships.

As in previous years, we’ll be providing bean bags to various companies and individuals during the world cup.  Our Everlast Faux Leather bean bags are perfect for such events – beautifully crafted in a luxury material which is extremely hard-wearing.  In fact, Everlast is so hard-wearing that we offer a 3 year guarantee on all products.

Why not get yourself a Cozibag beanbag and enjoy the whole tournament in complete comfort?  Get the beers in and relax – if you spill anything on an Everlast Faux Leather bean bag, it’ll wipe straight off.

Ipad launch but why the queues?

May 28th, 2010

Today’s the day that Apple launched its much heralded ‘Ipad’ in the UK, and shoppers queued outside Apple stores throughout the night in an attempt to be amongst the first customers to get their hands on one.

Apple is a fantastic brand, a company which seemingly produces iconic designs and groundbreaking technologies with ease.  But this modern-day craze for queuing throughout the night just to buy the latest electronic gadget (or book, in the case of the Harry Potter series) is a bit of a mystery to me.  I just can’t understand why anyone would put themselves through the misery of standing in a queue for 12 hours through a cold, wet and windy night to buy something they could just buy a few days later without any hassle.

Still, I suppose that’s the great thing about companies like Apple – they have such a dedicated consumer base.  I like to think that Cozibag also has a pretty happy bunch of customers, but I somehow can’t imagine people queuing throughout the night to buy a bean bag, no matter how good it is!

Anyway, there’s no need to queue for a Cozibag bean bag because we currently offer FREE next-day delivery on virtually all items.  Just order by 11am Monday to Thursday to receive a luxury bean bag on your doorstep the very next morning; it’s a much better feeling than queuing up all night.

Cozibag Bean Bag News

May 26th, 2010

We’ve spent a bit of time these past few days visiting suppliers about new products/materials/colours and potential sites for photo shoots.  We’re happy to say we’ve found a beautiful tan brown leather to add to our existing real leather bean bag range, which includes the huge Sao Paulo Bean Bag and the slightly smaller Sao Luis and Santiago Bean Bags.

We’re very excited about the tan brown as it’s the same full-grain, luscious nappa leather as currently used for the Sao Paulo, Sao Luis and Santiago, but the lighter colour is also naturally cracked for a real vintage finish.

As for the photo shoot, we have found the perfect location Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter.  It’s a lovely old converted building boasting huge windows and open brickwork to allow us to set up a fantastic scene and show visitors to our site how stylish our beanbags look.

There’ll be more information to come shortly, so keep posted.

In the mean time, don’t forget we still have at least 40% virtually everything on the site and FREE delivery on most bean bags.

Sao Luis Leather Bean Bag

May 20th, 2010

We’ve mentioned it in previous posts but the Sao Luis leather bean bag is finally here!  It’s the younger, sightly smaller brother of the Sao Paulo leather bean bag but with the same detailed panel stitching and, of course, the same highest quality soft, sumptuous nappa leather.

In naming the new bean bag we continued the South American theme as it reflects the origins and the spirit of the bean bags.  Sao Luis is situated along Brazil’s northern Atlantic coast, although there are other towns dotted around South America which share the name.

The height dimensions are the same as the Sao Paulo but its diameter of 120cm is 20cm less than its larger brother.  We decided to produce this bean bag following feedback from some customers who loved the Sao Paulo but found it a little too big for their living space.

The Sao Luis looks beautiful in any stylish living space, whether the decor be minimal or funky.  It’s something that adds a sense of fun and tactility, a bit of Joie de vivre next to more formal and static pieces of furniture.

We are currently arranging a photo shoot in a really cool location.  It should allow us to portray our bean bags in a designer living setting to give customers a clear idea of how good they can look.  We’re hoping this’ll take place in the next few weeks so we’ll post more information when we can.

Finally, we will soon be adding a new colour to our real leather range: tan brown.  Tan is a classic colour which compliments so many styles and colour schemes.  It’s perhaps more of a retro colour than black and dark brown so will hopefully provide an option to a whole new set of customers.  We’re always striving to offer unbeatable quality with plenty of choice at sensible prices.
