Christmas-to-New Year deliveries & VAT increase

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

.

There are a few delivery restrictions between Christmas and the new year due to some of our suppliers being closed for the festive period.  All bean bag orders received up until 2pm today (Tuesday 29th December) will be dispatched as usual, but any orders received after this time and up until 11am Monday 4th January will be delivered on Tuesday 5th January 2010 (to UK Zone 1 delivery areas – other areas will be the following day).

There’s been much talk about the forthcoming increase in the standard rate of VAT, from 15% to its previous level of 17.5%, on 1st January.  Our sale prices will continue into January and remain for the entire first month of the new year.  We will not be passing on the VAT increase just yet, so our customers will have all month to decide on the perfect beanbag without rushing into something.  We think it seems much fairer that way.

That means you can still bag a real leather bean bag or faux leather bean bag way below standard prices for the next 4 weeks so have a browse, request some colour samples and think it over: there’s no rush.

Extended Christmas delivery for your bean bags

Monday, December 21st, 2009

The presents were all bought weeks ago, each one lovingly encased in shiny, sparkly wrapping paper before being carefully placed underneath the tree…at least that was the idea when we started making our Christmas plans a month or two ago.  As it happens, we’re all still running around in a frenzy, searching for those last few gifts for someone special and longing for a moment of inspiration.

Well, at Cozibag Bean Bags we have extended the last Christmas delivery date to include orders placed up until 11am on Tuesday 22nd December to ensure that everyone can get their last-minute presents as late as possible.  This will give enough time for orders to be dispatched on the 22nd and delivered, free of charge (see free delivery terms), on the 23rd (with a bit of leeway for potential delays as deliveries can also be made on 24th).  We can’t guarantee deliveries to offshore/outer-lying areas as these can only be sent on a 2 day delivery, but we can guarantee they will be dispatched on time and that 99% will make it on Christmas Eve.

Remember, all of our quality bean bags are still on sale with over £100 off some of our real leather bean bags.

Thanks for reading and have a great Christmas.

Cozibag Beanbags Christmas deliveries

Monday, December 14th, 2009

.

At Cozibag Bean Bags we will work right up until Christmas to ensure our customers have every opportunity to get gifts for their loved ones in time for Christmas.

If you buy one of our quality bean bags, whether it be for children to use as gaming bean bags or as a stylish piece of furniture that adds something a little different and quirky to your living room, order by 18th December to guarantee delivery before Christmas.  Orders placed by 11am on 18th December will be dispatched that day for delivery on Monday 21st December (outer-lying/offshore areas take a day longer).  Orders placed on 18th December but after 11am will be dispatched on Monday 21st for delivery on Tuesday 22nd (again outer-lying/offshore areas take a day longer).

We will be dispatching orders that are placed right up until 22nd December so any last minute orders may be delivered on Christmas Eve, but we can’t guarantee the delivery for obvious reasons (some companies guarantee these things but, when it comes to the crunch, will simply tell you that they have no control over courier delays – we never want to mislead our customers).

So, to be safe, order your leather bean bags and faux leather bean bags by 18th December to avoid disappointment – click here for full delivery details.

England World Cup Glory from the comfort of a Bean Bag!

Monday, December 7th, 2009

So, the nation begins to expect…it’s that time again when every football fan starts to dream of their country lifting the greatest prize in football: The FIFA World Cup.

Unfortunately, the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish missed out following some below-par performances, and the Irish, well, I think the less said about that one the better.  Therefore, the whole of the UK and Ireland will be cheering on the one remaining home nation to glory…or possibly not, but it’s nice to think that everyone will get behind Rooney and co.

The draw for the group stage was certainly kind to England and at least gives hope to achieving the minimum target of qualifying for the knock-out rounds.  OK, you have to beat the best teams in order to go all the way and win it, but at least there’s a good chance of avoiding a complete hammering from the English press if they reach the later stages!

The last international tournament in Austria and Switzerland (European Championship 2008) was a complete wash out, with all home nations failing to qualify for that one, but England did appear in the last World Cup, staged in Germany, 2006.  Cozibag was then a fledgling company but we met up with some local business owners and were proud to supply some prestigious Birmingham bars with bean bags to allow their customers to watch the games in style.  We only had a limited range of styles at the time and provided them all with classic High-back XXL Beanbag in Red/White combinations in our unbeatable Everlast Faux Leather material , which is beautifully luxurious but incredibly strong.  Mixed colours arent available on the website just at the moment but we will be getting new stock in plenty of time for the World Cup.  They went down a treat and we have since fulfilled more bean bag orders for various shapes and colours.

The Everlast Faux Leather range is very popular with businesses as the bean bags offer high-end style with superb quality workmanship and durability.  We have also started supplying our new range of real leather bean bags to businesses who wish to opt for the most luxurious pieces available.

Holidays are coming!

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

It’s the first day of advent and the run-up to Christmas begins now.  We’re not fans of the retail industry’s obsession with starting Christmas as soon as possible – putting up decorations in early October is just plain ridiculous!  It’s a time of real anticipation and spiritual reflection for those with genuine Christian beliefs, and a time of sheer excitement at the thought of all those presents for others!

We all have to be a little more careful with how we spend our money these days, and that’s certainly no bad thing – we couldn’t continue lavishing money on every little whim forever.  So, whenever we make a purchase, it’s vital we ensure that we are getting high quality goods that will last a long time, but at a price that won’t break the bank.  This is a philosophy that we always adhere to at Cozibag Bean Bags, both in the purchases we make and the products we sell.

Our bean bags are made from only the finest fabrics and leather; you won’t find shoddy materials or cheap cuts, or lazy and below par stitching on our bean bags.  We also offer free material samples to allow our customers to see for themselves the quality of the material and, of course, whether the colour is right.  On the rare occasion that an item is returned (which is usually due to a bean bag being larger than expected, so please check the sizes carefully!), we don’t charge a ‘re-stocking’ fee – as many other retailers do.  On top of this, the return fees that we do charge to help cover our postage costs are subsidised, so we actually lose money on returned items.  All in all, we try to be as fair as possible and accept that if we give a little, we will retain the confidence of our customers and continue to be appreciated as a top-quality, trustworthy brand.

All of our beanbags are still on sale but prices may vary on the lead-up to Christmas due to changing stock levels, so make sure you get in as soon as you can to get the best price possible.

Keep Cadbury British!

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Not really anything to do with bean bags, this post, but being a Birmingham company we feel proud of Cadbury, the world’s most famous confectioner, and just wanted to air our opinions about the speculation of a possible take-over by US conglomerate Kraft (and now, seemingly, other companies are trying to get in on the act too).

As any Birmingham resident will tell you, Bournville – the area of the city which is home to the famous factory and developed by the Cadbury family for their employees during the late 19th to early 20th century – is a beautiful area full of old-fashioned character and lots of splendid greenery.  It has been protected for all these years as a monument to George Cadbury’s altruistic belief that his workers deserved respect and a good quality of life.  To this day, the area has no pub (originally to deter workers from drinking) and few other facilities with a licence to sell alcohol.  This kind of quaintness is what makes Bournville and Cadbury such an endearing British institution.

Now, potentially, due to a few shortsighted shareholders the company is on the brink of being taken over by a mighty but faceless corporation with no soul, no community spirit and no charm – at least not on these shores.  Cadbury is a highly successful business with great returns for its investors, but some people are only interested in maximising even bigger gains during the short-term – a corporate greed which helped cause of the current recession.  If anybody really thinks a takeover will do anything other than relocate jobs to cheap labour markets and dilute the brand over the longer term, they are, in our opinion, sorely mistaken.

Next time you are relaxing on a Cozibag Bean Bag with a bar of Cadbury chocolate, savour the experience, for it may not be long before another fine British company goes the way of so many others and disappears into foreign ownership forever.

I’m a celebrity…get me a bean bag.

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Insect-bothering reality TV show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here has returned to our screens for another airing of gross-out idiocy and (in)sincere camaraderie.  As with all reality television, it’s pretty mindless stuff but the moment you start watching is the moment you are hooked, and it’s already thrown us a few interesting morsels such as hearing Jordan (AKA Katie Price) seemingly unable to stop talking about ex-husband Peter Andre.  Whether she knows she’s doing it or not is hard to say, but she’s clearly reminiscing about her first trip to the jungle and I can’t imagine her new boyfriend is too keen on that.

As they sit in base camp with little to ocupy themselves other than each other (I think I’d rather try and sleep 20 hours a day), I can’t help thinking how comfortable they’d all be on Cozibag Bean Bags.  Sad, I know, but our Everlast Faux Leather bean bag range would be perfect on the jungle floor as they are water resistant and extremely hardy.  If they spill their beans (er…) on one it’s not a problem as they simply wipe clean.

I am trying to stop myself from watching any more of the programme because spending so much of my time thinking about Jordan on a bean bag surely can’t be healthy.

On the subject of celebrities and bean bags, we have an impressive list of well-known faces who have chosen to buy Cozibag bean bags.  We’ll soon be compiling a new page on the website to showcase our famous customers and how happy they are with their Cozibag bean bags!

New Leather Bean Bags

Detailed panelled stitching

Detailed panelled stitching

Our latest range of bean bags in soft nappa leather is created using only the finest, softest full-grain cuts of leather with a pigmented coating to guard against spills and scuffs.  Rather than just using plain panels all over, the seating areas are constructed from multiple panels that are beautifully stitched to create a tactile finish with real ‘wow factor’.

Santiago Bean Bag in Real Leather

'Santiago' Bean Bag in Real Leather

The ‘Santiago’ Bean Bag was designed by Cozibag to be sleek and understated.  With its low back and wide base, its contours hug the floor for a discreet but sexy look for any modern living space.

Again designed by Cozibag, the ‘Sao Paulo’ Bean Bag is a large, circular leather bean bag based on the ‘Slouch’ Bean Bag in Everlast Faux Leather.  As well as detailed panel stitching, the Sao Paulo also comes with the option of perforated leather around the outer panels of the beanbag.  This effect adds yet another dimension to the leather and is currently available free of charge, leaving the decision entirely down to personal preference and not cost.

We also have a selection of pouffe bean bags in the same nappa leather, which are perfect for providing extra comfort when you wish to put your feet up but you can’t because those pesky kids won’t allow you to have the settee all to yourself!

As a small company focussed on quality and design, we are able to market our products at prices that embarrass our competitors.  We are also continuing with our sale prices for the rest of November, so now is the perfect time to get a loved-one something special for Christmas.

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen uses Cozibag Bean Bags

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

We are delighted to announce that we have been approached by TV interior design guru Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen and his team to supply bean bags for his forthcoming ’style bible’ book, which is due to go on sale next year.

Lawrence initially took a Chair bean bag and a Slump bean bag, both in Everlast Faux Leather, and was so impressed that he asked his team to get a couple more.  He noted that the quality of the faux leather was excellent and the workmanship exemplary.

We are proud of the materials we use at Cozibag because we don’t try to cut corners by finding cheaper alternatives.  In fact, we were recently offered a newer style material by our supplier, which was cheaper than we usually use, but with a slightly thinner cotton base.  As it wasn’t quite as thick as the usual stuff it lost a little bit of strength and weight, which we felt just didn’t feel right.  Although we could quite easily have sold this new material and saved some money, we decided to stick to the original, more expensive, stuff as we’re just not comfortable offering lower-grade products – we will always stick to our high-quality values.

In over 4 years of selling Everlast Faux Leather Bean Bags, we have had only two products that have needed replacing due to slight stitching faults (which, of course, we did immediately and without fuss).  We are very proud of that.

There will be more news on the publication of Lawrence’s book in the coming months.
