Real leather bean bags back in stock

Monday, April 26th, 2010

We’re happy to inform customers that our range of designer real leather bean bags are now back in stock and ready for next day delivery (when ordered by 11am Monday to Thursday).

Sao Paulo Leather Bean Bag

Santiago Leather Bean Bag

Santiago Leather Bean Bag

Our ‘Santiago’ and ‘Sao Paulo’ beanbags are available in 100% luxurious, soft nappa leather in both Black and Brown.  Our leather items are a cut above other brands due with detailed panel stitching which provides a luxurious, tactile seating area and oozes style.

Detailed seating panels

We have now also added discreet dark-coloured metal mesh-eyelets to the rear of the bean bags to allow air to escape quickly.  This allows them to mould to your body to create comfort perfection.

We also have a new product which will be added to the range very soon.  The ‘Sao Luis’ leather bean bag is a slightly smaller version of the ‘Sao Paulo’, a product we decided to create following feedback from some customers that the ‘Sao Paulo’ was just too large for their living space and that they’d like a less invasive alternative.

All bean bags, whether in our luxury ‘Everlast’ faux leather or sumptuous real leather, are currently on sale with at least 40% off virtually everything.

Cozibag teams up with Birmingham City University

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Last year, Cozibag were proud to supply Birmingham City University (formerly University of Central England) with 20 bean bags for a special relaxation area that allows students to socialise and discuss ideas.  As we all know, thoughts flow more freely when we feel calm, comfortable and relaxed – and Cozibag giant bean bags are perfect for the job!

Our Everlast Faux Leather bean bags are remarkably durable; in fact the materials we use are so inherently strong, and the manufacturing process so expertly finished, that we are confident enough to offer a genuine 3 year guarantee on all Everlast products.  We aren’t the type of company to attempt to slip out of a guarantee obligation by inserting small print, we are open and honest and always eager to please our customers.

Although thicker than most faux leather materials, the major difference with Everlast Faux Leather is that it remains beautifully supple, just like real leather.  They look stylish and have the added benefit of being wipe-clean with a damp cloth, so very little care is required.

Our thanks go out to the everyone in the Law Social Sciences department at Birmingham City University who are happily using Cozibag beanbags.  They are great people who work hard and are always keen to support local businesses.

It’s all gone up in smoke…

Friday, April 16th, 2010

The volcanic eruption from beneath the Eyjafjallajokull Glacier in Iceland is an amazing thing, something which seems to belong to the age of the dinosaurs!  It’s astonishing that something so relatively small can affect such a high area, and it just goes to remind us all of the power of mother nature.

Apparently it started to erupt on 25th March but only began to spew its ash many miles into the air a couple of days ago.  This caused havoc with European airspace, with the UK experiencing a grounding of airplanes which is unprecedented.  Almost all flights in and out of the UK will not take place until at least 1am Saturday (17th April).  I have friends who are due to fly back from holiday today so they will be in for a frustrating time.  It got me thinking how nice it would be for airports to have bean bag zones for people to relax when there’s a delay!  Our Everlast Faux Leather Bean Bags would be perfect!

After hearing that a light dusting of volcanic ash may fall over the UK overnight, I eagerly (ok, geekily) woke up this morning and rushed outside in the hope I’d find a layer of warm ash, fresh from the earth’s mantle…not quite, I did see a bit of dust but then I haven’t cleaned my car for a year so it was really quite difficult to tell if there was any difference.  It’s not stopped me from going to work so no need for our customers to worry as they’ll be receiving their bean bag orders as promptly as always!

It may look demonic and it may cause a great deal of disruption for millions of people, but it is a beautiful sight to behold.

Luxurious Leather Bean Bags Back Soon

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

Many bean bag retailers don’t keep all their products in stock, particularly leather items; you may find that they casually mention in their terms that delivery might be around ‘3 or 4 weeks’.  Others — and this usually applies to all their products, not just leather ones — don’t give specifics; they simply state delivery will be ‘7 to 10 working days’, etc.

At Cozibag, we work differently.  We believe that when shopping online customers should always know when to expect delivery — after all, when you’ve paid good money, you have a right to know!   We always try to keep all products in stock and are committed to dispatching all orders (for up to 3 items) the very same day when those orders are placed by 11am Monday to Friday.  We then email courier tracking details to confirm dispatch so customers know when they will be receiving delivery — which, as standard, is the following working day.

Over recent weeks, however, we have had an unfortunate delay with some of our designer leather bean bags.  This has led us to advertise a delivery waiting time on the Santiago and Sao Paulo beanbags.  Thankfully, the small issue we had is now sorted and all leather bean bags will be back in stock and ready for same day dispatch very soon — hopefully within the next.

All bean bags, whether in our luxury ‘Everlast’ faux leather or sumptuous real leather, are currently discounted by at least 40% (with the exception of the Small XXL High-back, which is nearly 40% off).  We will be keeping these sale prices for the remainder of the month of April so rest assured that you still have time to buy a beautiful Cozibag leather beanbag at these excellent prices.

We will provide a more detailed update in the coming days.

Cozibag teams up with Leicester City Football Club

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Cozibag is happy to announce an alliance with Leicester City Football Club.

We have produced our high quality bean bag furniture in the famous blue and white of the club with beautifully embroidered club crests.

We are offering the High-back Bean Bag in Everlast Faux Leather in all 3 high-back sizes: Small, XL and XXL.

As a special intriductory offer, all Leicester City Football Club beanbags are HALF PRICE with FREE SHIPPING.  That means you can buy a specially embroidered Everlast Faux Leather bean bag for as little £34.50 including shipping- a great gift idea for any fan of the Foxes!  There is a limited quantity so, at those prices and the fact that Leicester are currently riding high in the Championship, stock may not last very long.

The official LCFC crest is embroidered on two panels of each bag (one on a side panel and one on top) using the most skilled workers, the best machinery and the finest materials – much like the bean bags themselves.

Leicester City are a great club with a huge fan base and everybody at Cozibag wishes them well.  With a bit of luck we will see the team reach this season’s play-offs and work their way back in to the Premier League – where they belong.

May 6th Election

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

The political world is buzzing with the announcement today that the general election will take place on 6th May.  Prime Minister Gordon Brown held a meeting with his cabinet before visiting Buckingham Palace to officially ask HM Queen to dissolve parliament.

Mr Brown claimed that Labour had already got the “big decisions” right during the current financial plight of the world recession, and that he would continue to do so in order to avert the risk of a “double-dip recession”.

He promised to protect front-line public services and offer continued support to the armed forces.

Conservative leader David Cameron insists the country needs a change and that successive Labour governments have virtually brought the country to its knees.  I have to say, although Gordon Brown does seem to be handling the current financial problems with relative success (lower than expected unemployment; slightly higher than anticipated economic growth), there are many decisions that should be questioned, not least why our financial institutions were encouraged by Labour (with Brown as the Chancellor or the Exchequer) to gamble more and more money on foreign markets for increased profits, and peculiar actions such as selling huge quantities of the UK’s gold reserves for rock-bottom prices (I’m sure there must have been some thinking behind this but I honestly don’t know what).

Cozibag Bean Bags was set up towards the end of the Blair years and we have gone from strength to strength selling high quality bean bag furniture in leather and faux leather materials.  However, I’d say it was more down to hard work than the political environment, and we’re certainly a little concerned about a possible increase in Employers’ National Insurance contributions.  In all honesty, I don’t see why a small (1p in the pound perhaps?) rise in income tax wouldn’t be a fairer option, particularly if it were only applied to those earning a reasonable living wage; surely that would be a fairer way to increase public revenues without hitting people too hard?

However, Labour have also worked very hard on improving and increasing public services, particularly in areas such as health care.  I don’t know,  it remains to be seen whether to public will remember the good or the bad; I suspect I know which but wouldn’t like to comment either way.  Only 6 months ago it seemed odds-on that the Conservatives would win by a landslide, but things have swung back towards Labour a little and, although still in the Tory’s favour, the polls seem to suggest this one will be a very close call indeed.

How is the date of Easter determined?

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

The Easter weekend is upon us; a time for deep reflection if you are a serious Christian, a time to stuff your face with chocolate if not.  I suppose both together is common.

Our High-back XXL and XL bean bags look remarkably similar to Easter eggs but without the calories, so why not treat yourself to a Cozibag bean bag and enjoy Easter whilst remaining on course for your summer beach body!

Like many others, I have never understood how or why Easter seems to change each year, so I decided to have a little look into it.

Apparently, Easter was originally called Pascha after the Hebrew word for Passover, a Jewish festival that is set by the first full moon following the vernal equinox – the spring day when night and day are exactly the same length.  As Pascha fell around the same time as the Jewish festival, Christians wanted to have their feast day at the same time as the Jews.

Pascha later became known as Easter, a word which is believed to be derived from Eostre, the name of the Anglo-Saxon goddess of fertility and springtime.

The date of Easter is determined, like its pagan festival equivalent, by the lunar calendar.

Solar and lunar calendars

The ancient Egyptians used a solar calender which was passed on through the Roman and Christian cultures to become the modern world standard.  However, the Jews used phases of the moon (as Islam now does).

A problem is caused by the solar year (the length of time it takes the earth to orbit the sun) being nearly 11 days longer than the lunar year.  Many formulae have been devised to try to reconcile the two as a method of marking time.

So when does Easter fall?

Generally speaking, Easter falls on the first Sunday following the first full moon after 21 March.

It can be as early as 22 March, as it was in 1761 and 1818 (but that won’t happen until 2285) or as late as 25 April, but we haven’t had that since 1943 and won’t again until 2038.  The most common date is 19 April.

So there you go, a nice little lesson in religious history!  I hope you enjoyed it.
